Enter Yoga Teaching

I have practiced yoga for almost 15 years. For the past several years, I’ve been substitute teaching for my yoga teacher, Cathy. I even did it once in Mexico, and in Spanish. I enjoyed it so much that I thought I ought to do it more seriously, but I’ve gone back and forth with the idea of taking yet another pleasurable aspect of my life and making it into something I do seriously. Like reading. I love reading, and I study reading. I problemetize reading. Reading is work. Do I really want to do that with yoga?

Yes, I guess I do. At Cathy’s urging, I’ve decided to lead an eight week yoga class at her lovely, serene Sail Loft Studio. I’m looking forward to discovering the parallels of teaching in the university classroom and in the yoga studio. I hope I can lead others to finding the joy in themselves that yoga can give.

If you’re in the area, you’re welcome to come along on this journey with me.

Here is the promo copy for my class:

    1. I wish you were closer, too, Benj. There have been seal and whale sightings near the studio so I’m hopeful this week we’ll see some.
